Congratulations Dan, Sue, Brad, Rachele and Hailey on your Canadian Council of Snowmobiling Organizations award presented at the ASA Excellence Awards in October. You are a well deserving family. Thank you for everything you do for the club on an ongoing basis.
The Guenette Family was awarded the provincial ASA Family of the Year Award in 2015 and this year they received the Canadian Council of Snowmobiling Family of the Year Award. This Award recognizes outstanding Families who distinguish themselves in the following areas: volunteerism, leadership, safety, promotion and development and community outreach.
The Guenettes are outstanding members and leaders of the Whitecourt Trailblazers Club. Dan has been on the Trailblazers executive board for over a decade, volunteering countless hours to the club. All family members have volunteered for the numerous rallies, club rides, fundraisers, and events. Brad started trail cleaning at a young age with Dan and continues to volunteer as an adult. Belonging to the Trailblazers offers the Guenettes opportunities to meet and ride with like-minded people who enjoy snowmobiling and to spread the word that organized snowmobiling is a great family sport
The Guenettes continue to participate in numerous club activities including the Trailblazers Annual Rally, the Annual VIP Ride, and the recent World Snowmobile Invasion. They are all organizers, volunteers, and participants to club events. Whether it is planning, trail cleaning, checkpoints, or fundraising, building cabins and other buildings, they are tirelessly volunteering. The entire family are active riders and can be found almost every weekend out on the vast trails around Whitecourt or the B.C mountains.
The family are true role models for other families and younger riders. They are an integral part of the club and the community. They have been deeply involved with both Invasions in 2009 and 2015. They are involved in our local organized snowmobiling but have also gone to other Rallies and regions in Canada - Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories and the USA – Yellowstone area.
The family is dedicated and committed to our local club and without their support, guidance, participation it would not be the same.
