REMINDER OF OUR ONLINE SLED RAFFLE, IF YOU HAVEN’T PURCHASED YOUR TICKETS PLEASE VISIT: https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/whitecourttsc. An additional reminder that we have postponed our Family Day Rally with a future date to be announced, we are waiting for substantial snow.
We received very little fresh snow and have not groomed for a couple of weeks. Very warm temps last week, however it's a bit cooler this week. We have had high winds, with reports of trees down. They have been cleaned up. Please let us know if you come across any trees down and if you can move them, please do so, otherwise we will get someone out to clear them away. People are getting out for a ride, however there are lots of bare patches and some icy hills. Our staging areas remain open.
Hazards: Reminder that our trail ends at the banks of all water bodies. Some water hazards have opened due to the warm weather so extreme caution is advised. Please be cautious for signage and re-routing on the trails in the north and the south during this winter. We have made many changes with flattening some hills, widening, mowing and mulching various trails. Multiple re-routing/bypasses have been completed; please watch for signs or ribboning. We have Forestry Industry adjacent to many of our trails, therefore a heads up and stay on the trails. Some roads have been plowed adjacent to our trails in the south. Please beware of active logging between Chickadee and the Pipeline by the temporary trail from the Casino. Please do not use the Oldman Road on the south side , as it's being used for an active log haul.
GOLDEN TRIANGLE REPORT: A bit of fresh snow received on the Triangle trails. Swan Hills-groomed Triangle section from town to Freeman River towards Whitecourt last week. Whitecourt and Fox Creek did not groom. Ride with caution - spring conditions. Trails are rideable but use caution at all water ways. Swan Hills still planning a Rally February 25th.
