Whitecourt Trail Report - JANUARY 24, 2020
RECOMMENDATION: Groomed Trails are super on the south side and fully groomed. Some fresh snow out on the trails towards Tom Hill Tower. We are still working on the north side filling and grooming.
TRAIL CLEANING: Trails are all cleaned, if you come across leaners, it's great when you clip them back. Thanks, helps out the snow cats when they come along.
CONDITION OF TRAILS: Trails are in good condition.
HAZARDS: LARGE WATERWAYS ARE STILL A HAZARD, THEY ARE NOT COMPLETELY FROZEN, DO NOT CROSS!
GROOMING: South side trails are all groomed. North-west side we have filled areas with snow and will be grooming on Monday/Tuesday. The North west side is groomed (Carson area). Please note: we will not be grooming from #9 across to #6 (part of the Gundy Trail) via Pipeline Hill as it needs lots of work, It is cleaned though. The portion from the Carson Cabin to Letter O is not groomed yet.
STAGING AREAS: Eagle River & Groat Creek Staging Areas are open to the public.
USE CAUTION: Please beware, that we have industry working in the south and north in various locations.
TRAIL/MEMBERSHIP PASSES: Don’t forget to buy your Trail or Day Pass prior to going out. $90 annually and $25 for a Trail Pass. Your support helps us to groom and maintain trails. Don't forget to pick up a Sled Raffle Ticket as well at our participating dealers and stores.
GOLDEN TRIANGLE TRAIL REPORT
Whitecourt: The north side/Golden Triangle section and connectors, we are still working on them. Connectors are not groomed.
Fox Creek: Trails are in good shape. They have been cleaned and groomed with the exception of the Golden Triangle Connectors past the Trapper cabin will be cleaned when the Pipeline that is crossing work is completed. Beware of Cougar in area by the Legion Lodge.
Swan Hills: Golden Triangle Trail West to Fox Creek still has logging on trail at Letter A and just before Letter B. Trail is open, not groomed - please be cautious. GT trail south has logging as well just north of letter P. Trail Maintenance happening this weekend to Letter O. Trails are cleaned and rideable but not groomed yet.
