We received no new snow since Monday. In total we have about 8-10" of snow. Thank you to Brad's Picker Service for moving the snow cats out to their winter locations. Unfortunately, we will be experiencing above 0c temps this coming week, with any luck it won't effect the snow level. Snow levels vary on the trails from 5-10" which means the trails are in very early season condition with hazards of debris, ruts, rocks and uneven ground. Travel is possible, but not recommended as it isn’t great riding. If you are out, please use extreme caution. Thank you to the two trail inspecting groups for getting out and giving us a trail update.
South Trail System: The crossing at the Airport is open and the logs have been removed. Creeks have been filled by the South Snowcat (sponsored by 1st Choice Truck and Car Wash). The town rocks will be moved in the next few days.
North Trail System: Snow levels are about the same on the north trail. The North Snowcat (Sponsored by Strydhorst Enterprises) has been out filling creeks.
The staging areas remain closed.
Hazards include: large waterbodies not frozen, creeks have not been filled. Debris from trees, deep ruts from quads and trucks need to be filled, tons of rocks and uneven ground. Rocks in the gravel pit are showing. Currently –LOW SNOW.
Trail reports are given every Thursday on all of our social media, website and newsletter. Please look for those weekly reports. If we receive lots of snow or other changes occur that we want you to know about, we will also give an additional report mid-week.
We will be announcing the status of our Annual Family Snowmobile Rally Event February 6th- stay tuned for that information.
Don’t forget to purchase an online sled raffle ticket at Whitecourt Trailblazers Club – Sled Raffle Fundraiser | Rafflebox. We have 23 days until our draw.
