Trail Report January 29, 2021

TREE BLOWDOWN - High winds a week ago have set us back on filling creeks and potential grooming.  WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help us out.  Over the next week, we are looking for volunteers to help with trail cleaning on the north side trails.  Thanks to Don Price, who was able to clean the south side trails except for Groat Creek trail.  Please contact us if you can help us out.  The snow cat will be unable to go out until we can clean.......Snow Levels - We received anywhere from 2" to 4" over the past few days of fresh snow.  We still have a variable amount from 4" to 12" on the trails. Hazards - Rough in various areas with ruts.  Major waterways are not frozen and extremely rough and freezing in slabs.   Beware of logging on the Golden Triangle Connector between Gundy Cabin and Virginia Hills and Logging by #15 & #16 (Carson Trail).  Trail that crosses road on #10 area is being used.  Watch for signs and beware of big equipment. Grooming - South side trails, creeks and low areas have been filled.  North Side-Carson Trail has been filled.   We need trail cleaned to start filling other areas and then we can groom.Staging Areas - until the trails are cleaned and creeks/low areas are filled we will not be opening the staging areas.
