Thank you Tri Jet Services Inc and G MacRitchie Forestry Services Inc for co-sponsoring the Summit Cabin location this season. We are very fortunate to have great support from our community. These two companies are very supportive in other endeavours with the Trailblazers and are always very generous.
The Summit Cabin was built in 2012 by volunteers as a warm up shelter. The cabin was erected in a weekend by a group of dedicated volunteers. It is a square timber (log) building with a surrounding deck. With the help of community donations, this cabin became a reality. Thanks to Double B Logging, Infratech Corporation, Crawford Machinery, Home Hardware, Strad Energy, Pengrowth Energy and IGA.
This is the second warm up shelter built on this location. Previously, there was a warm up shelter that unfortunately burnt down in the spring of 2012.
The area boasts 4 trail heads leading to trails on the south side. We host check points and other rides to the cabin. This is a popular cabin on the trail system that many people frequent. We have an outhouse, fire pit area and wood. Recently, we installed a solar panel and lights outside.
Thanks again for supporting us this season with your sponsorship.
