We received fresh snow on the weekend. Closer to town it is about 4", but further northwest and southwest you go, it is a decent amount 6-8". Snow conditions are great and we have a really good base. Grooming was definitely worth it!
We groomed this week. South is all groomed except Groat Creek Trail and Summit Trail from Cabin to Tom Hill. We will likely do it next week. North trails - Groomed Carson, Pipeline, Gundy, Eagle Trail, trail to boat launch done. The Manweiler Trail to Athabasca River on north side is not groomed.
Both staging areas are open.
Hazards: Reminder that our trail ends at the banks of all water bodies. There is a fair bit of flood water on all water crossing. Cross at your own risk. Please be cautious for signage and re-routing on the trails in the north and the south during this winter. We have Forestry Industry adjacent to many of our trails, therefore a heads up and stay on the trails. Please do not use the Oldman Road (south - Hwy 32) as it is being used as a log haul road.
GOLDEN TRIANGLE REPORT: Swan Hills, Fox Creek and Whitecourt Trails- received fresh snow this past weekend (6-12"). We have great bases and the fresh snow has made the trails very good. Beware of logging adjacent to the trails on all the routes. Announcement and Reminder: Swan Hills Snowmobile Rally is on Saturday February 25th.
Don't forget to pickup an annual ASA Membership Pass or Day Pass if you are heading out to ride.
