Weekly Trail Report | Thursday January 1st, 2026

The Whitecourt Area has received a fair amount of snow in the past week, along with some recent rain and warmer temperatures, but the trails remain in good shape.
Staging Areas:
➡️Eagle River Staging Area is currently off limits; Government of Alberta crews are in there completing upgrades.
✨North trail system staging area will be at the Eagle River Casino on the far west side (beside the Husky truck stop) until further notice.
➡️Groat Creek Staging Area is open, but please note that it has not been plowed yet.
Grooming:
North Trail System:
Trails East of Hwy 32 - have been groomed once last week Dec 21-23rd.
Trails West of Hwy 32 - have been groomed on Dec 31st.
South Trail System:
Goodwin and Summit Trail - groomed Dec 28th
Bessie Creek Trail - groomed Dec 31st
Manweiler Trail form #45 to Summit Cabin - groomed Dec 31st
Goodwin Trail - groomed Dec 31st
In-Town Trail System :
Trail from Forest Interpretive Center to West Mountain Road through Centennial Park was groomed on Dec 29th.
Hazards on the Trails:
⚠️Active logging on the Manweiler and Bessie creek trails in the area of numbers 39,45 also between numbers 45,47 on the south trail system, be cautious of logging road crossings and logging equipment.
As always, our words are " Ride at your own Risk" as the environment can change the conditions at any given time.
Natural hazards may include ice, running water, ruts, rocks, stumps, trees, muskeg. Our trails end at the bank to any body of water. Any River, Lake, Pond or Creek may not be frozen, please stay off of any large bodies of water.
