
Trail cleaning has been completed.
No recent snow for the Whitecourt area.
Warm temperatures have made many of the trails icy.
The North trail system was not as affected by the warm temperatures and remains in better shape than the south trail system.
Staging Areas
➡️ Eagle River Staging Area is currently off limits; Government of Alberta crews are in there completing upgrades.
✨North trail system staging area will be at the Eagle River Casino on the far west side (beside the Husky truck stop) until further notice, the parking lot has been plowed.
➡️Groat Creek Staging Area is open.

Town to the Y (#32) on the Summit trail was groomed on Jan 16th

January 11th - Bessie Creek Trail, Manweiler Trail from #45 to Summit Cabin, Summit Trail from Summit Cabin to Tom Hill Tower Cabin
January 8th - Groat Creek Canyon Trail, Summit Trail from Y to Summit Cabin, Groat Creek Connector Trail
Creek Filling: January 6th - Manweiler Trail from #45 to the river
Town trail system:
January 21st - Flats Road Trail was groomed.
January 7th - Trail from Forest interpretive center to west mountain road through Centennial Park was groomed.
Hazards on the Trails
Due to recent warm weather the trails are icy, as well as some bare spots throughout. Please use extra caution; especially on the hills.
Active logging on the Manweiler and Bessie creek trails in the area of numbers 39,45 also between numbers 45,47 on the south trail system, be cautious of logging road crossings and logging equipment.

Natural hazards may include ice, running water, ruts, rocks, stumps, trees, muskeg. Our trails end at the bank to any body of water. Any River, Lake, Pond or Creek may not be frozen, please stay off of any large bodies of water.
