It's going to be snowing before you know it, so the Whitecourt Trailblazers will be holding their monthly General Meeting on Wednesday, October 12th at 7:30 downstairs at the Whitecourt Legion. Please note the new location. Hope to see you all there!
Town OHV bylaw allowing access to the trails from town residence ends today. Sleds must be trailered out of town. Staging Areas are still open. Rivers and creeks are starting to flow but trails still have a lot of snow cover. It is too warm to groom so groomer has been parked.
Some fresh snow this week has covered up hard, icy trails. Conditions are excellent. Watch for logging activity around Summit Cabin and seismic on trail by letter N toward Swan Hills. Trail passes are still available. Ride safely.
Trailblazers were out yesterday to check the condition of trail between Letter M and O. Some snow was bladed back onto trail by seismic company but trail still very icy and rough. Did not make it to N as a ravine was impassable on existing trail due to ice, icebanks, and ruts. We will look […]
Goodwin Lake trail, Manweiler Trail to Athabasca, and Summit Trail from town to cabin was groomed on Feb 23. Trails are hard-packed and smooth...still need scratchers. No fresh snow yet. All sections of the Triangle have been groomed or travelled by snocat except for the area around Letter N between Blue Ridge Haul road and Freeman River. Seismic activity bladed the snow off the trail for several kilometres. The trail was supposed to be returned to normal last week, but Trailblazers have not confirmed that. […]
