March 28 update

Sledding season is nearing the end around Whitecourt.  Eagle River Staging Area is still open as trails are still rideable but snow is melting quickly.  River and creek crossings are very wet and not recommended.  Snow is better as you go north and west of Whitecourt.

March 20 update

Some fresh snow north and west of town.  Trails are better as you get away from town.  Use caution on all trails and water crossings.  Groomer may be out as conditions allow.

March 15 update

The warm weather has taken a lot of snow away.  Crossing rivers and creeks is not recommended.  Grooming is done for the year and trail pass sales have discontinued.  There is still some snow on trails from Eagle River Staging Area.  Use caution on all trails and ride at your own risk.

March 9th trail info

Trails are still in great shape with what seems to be an early Spring in the Whitecourt area.  We received a few inches of snow over the last week but with the warm temps it definitely shrunk and it was a bit too warm for the groomer to do any good.  Trails are still smooth […]

March 2 update

Summit Trail to Summit Shelter and Goodwin Lake Trail were groomed this week.  Also, the Golden Triangle Trail from Whitecourt to Virginia Hills Road was groomed.  Grooming will continue as long as the conditions allow.  Trails are in good condition.

Feb 28 update

Friday's snowfall really helped the trails.  More snow fell north and west of  Whitecourt.  Groomer is out Tuesday and Wednesday around Eagle and Carson trails.  Thanks for supporting the Trailblazers and grooming efforts by purchasing trail passes!  Compliance has been very good.  Trails around Goodwin Lake and Summit Shelter are still a little slick so […]

Trail report

Trails to the south of Whitecourt are icy and quad traffic has caused many ruts, use extreme caution.  Remember that the trails are for snowmobile use in the winter, not wheeled vehicles.  All the money and time spent grooming for sleds is destroyed when wheeled vehicles go on the trails.

Rally a success!

279 riders participated on Saturday and 208 on Sunday.  The trails held up very well even with the low snow levels. Thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, and checkpoint people who helped to make the Rally a success. The raffle sled was won by Randy Matthews of Whitecourt.  Congratulations and good for you!
