March 2 update
Summit Trail to Summit Shelter and Goodwin Lake Trail were groomed this week. Also, the Golden Triangle Trail from Whitecourt to Virginia Hills Road was groomed. Grooming will continue as long as the conditions allow. Trails are in good condition.
Feb 28 update
Friday's snowfall really helped the trails. More snow fell north and west of Whitecourt. Groomer is out Tuesday and Wednesday around Eagle and Carson trails. Weather looks great for the upcoming Rally. Trails are in good condition even though snow level is a little low. Rivers are frozen. Rally route is 60 km each day...follow signs, can't miss it. Groomer completed trail toward Swan Hills to letter O and back this week. Also, the Carson Trail and south of Carson Shelter all the way to town.

The Golden Triangle Trail from the Carson Shelter north to Letter O was cleaned again on Feb 4th and 5th. Several hours of log cutting. Groomer is planning to head toward Letter O (halfway to Swan Hills) on Monday. Trails north of Athabasca are in good condition. Trails southwest to Summit are rough as groomer […]

Since the groundhog saw his shadow, we should have 6 more weeks of sledding...er, winter. Groomer has been out leaving from Eagle River Staging Area and grooming west to Gundy Rest Area and then south to Highway 43 on the Manweiler Trail this week.
