Trail Report
Thursday March 6, 2025

The Whitecourt area has not received any new snow over the past week. We have also experienced above 0°c temperatures for the last couple weeks. Thankfully our trails are holding up with the warmer temperatures for now.

Staging Areas:

Both staging areas are open for the season. Use caution if you are leaving the parking lot or trail at Eagle River Staging Area as there may be mulching debris present.

Grooming:

NORTH: All North side trails were groomed three weeks ago. Trails are holding up OK with the warm temperatures. Conditions may vary greatly across the trail system. Expect late season conditions
SOUTH: Summit Trail from Town to Summit Cabin and Goodwin Lake Trail were groomed 2 weeks ago. ⚠️Summit Trail to Tom Hill Cabin currently has construction on it SOUTH of Summit Cabin. Please slow down and use caution as there may be a detour to the old trail beside the current route or the trail may be closed as a bridge is being removed. Trails are holding up OK with the warm temperatures. Conditions may vary greatly across the trail system. Expect late season conditions.

Continue to use caution on the Bessie Creek Trail and the Goodwin Lake Trail as there is logging in progress. Watch for signage and ribbons on the trail. Please follow all signage directions.

Hazards on the Trails:

Please stay on the groomed trails. If you are heading out use extreme caution. As always, our words are " Ride at your own Risk”; the environment can change the conditions at any given time. Please always be cautious of natural hazards which may include ice, running water, rocks, stumps, trees, muskeg. Our trails end at the banks, all water bodies may not be frozen, stay off large bodies of water.
